Manchester City edged closer to clinching the Premier League title with a commanding 2-0 win over Tottenham, courtesy of Erling Haaland’s impressive double.

Haaland’s goals in the 51st minute and added time sealed the victory, propelling City to the top of the table ahead of their final showdown against West Ham.

The win kept Arsenal, trailing by two points but with a better goal difference, hoping for City to falter in their last match to keep the title race alive.

In a thrilling encounter, Arsenal secured a vital victory against Manchester United in their 37th match, setting the stage for an electrifying clash against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the final day.

The tension was palpable as Manchester City faced the pressure of a potential title-defining moment in their match against Arsenal. Early on, Rodrigo Bentancur capitalized on a Brennan Johnson cross, testing Ederson with a fierce strike, but the City goalkeeper rose to the occasion with a crucial save.

With only a win enough to keep their title hopes alive, City’s Phil Foden came close to breaking the deadlock, seizing on a defensive error only to be denied by a brilliant stop from Guglielmo Vicario.

Despite City’s struggles to assert dominance, Kevin De Bruyne spurred his team on in the second half, playing a key role in Erling Haaland’s opening goal in the 51st minute. The stadium erupted in cheers, with chants taunting rivals Arsenal, as City took a significant step towards the title.

However, City faced a setback as Ederson was forced off due to injury, replaced by Ortega, who made crucial saves to maintain City’s lead. Ortega’s heroics, including a crucial stop against Son Heung-min, ensured City’s 2-0 victory.

In a decisive moment, substitute Jeremy Doku won a penalty, which Haaland confidently converted to seal the win. City’s triumph not only bolstered their title aspirations but also dealt a blow to Tottenham’s hopes.
