The Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, has provided assurance to the residents of Iworoko, Are, and Afao Ekiti regarding the Ekiti Ring Road Phase I project.

He emphasized that the project has been restructured to avoid the demolition of houses in the communities through which the construction works will pass.

Olatunbosun conveyed the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji administration to the overall well-being of the people while ensuring rapid development in the state.

He emphasized that the government will take measures to prevent any negative impact on the economy, peace, and tranquility of the communities. However, he made it clear that the government will not compromise on international standards in the execution of the project.

Highlighting the purpose of a ring road, Olatunbosun explained that it is designed to reduce traffic volumes in urban centers by providing an alternative route around the city for drivers who do not need to stop in the city core.

The Commissioner stressed that the government’s focus is on efficient development techniques and methods to ensure the safety of the environment and its inhabitants.

He urged residents to support and understand the need for such projects, encouraging them to take collective responsibility to protect their interests.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, further assured residents of the affected communities that the restructuring of the project is in their best interest and will not diminish the value accruable to their respective areas.

Adebayo expressed confidence that the Ring Road project will enhance socio-economic activities in the communities and contribute to their accelerated development.

He called for the support of all stakeholders in ensuring the successful completion of the project, underscoring the importance of the people’s continuous support for the government’s developmental efforts in the state.
