Oyo INEC fixes date for Saki rerun Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that a rerun election in two polling units in Saki West State Constituency, Oyo State House of Assembly, will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

This decision comes in compliance with a court order, as stated in a release by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Dr. Rahman Adeniran Tella.

The affected polling units are Odo-osun 007 in Ogidigbo area and Ogbalanja polling unit 019 in Sepeteri/Bapon registration area.

Only eligible voters with a valid permanent voter’s card (PVC) who registered in these areas will be allowed to participate in the rerun election. The Biomodel Accreditation System (BVAS) will be utilized for the exercise.

Dr. Tella encouraged candidates involved in the election to commence their campaigns immediately.

This rerun election aims to address any outstanding issues and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process in the specified areas.
